HAYABUSA "PRO MOD" STUDS -

The Hayabusa engine uses head bolts instead of the preferred stud arrangement. When engines are subjected to bigger bores, higher compression ratios, nitrous oxide, turbo, etc. the stock head bolts are not up to the task. Blown head gaskets are the result.

APE is the leading manufacturer of heavy duty cylinder studs for motorcycles. The Hayabusa studs are made from ultra high heat treated premium 8740 steel and feature rolled threads for maximum strength. Torque to 60 lbs. APE head nuts are machined from billet stock and heat treated to prevent threads from stretching. This set up is a must for all serious go fast motors. Extra thread on the nut end allows them to also be used with no plate when using APE CHN10125-10 cylinder head nuts.

Please note that the cylinder head can not be removed with engine bolted in place when using studs.

Heavy duty main bearing studs.

Must use in conjunction with part#CHN10125-10

All APE STUDS FEATURE ROLLED THREADS AFTER HEAT TREAT FOR MAXIMUM STRENGTH.

LONG CYLINDER STUDS -

Shortly after we started making Hayabusa cylinder studs, people started using spacers for strokers, etc so we increased the length 6mm for a total length of 8.00" (203.2mm)

Now with 9 and 10+ strokers, we have been getting request for even longer ones. We have just finished a new production run of Busa studs and we made a limited number at 8.30" ( 210.8mm)

The same legendary quality and strength of our other 10mm Pro Mod Busa studs. There is no extra charge for the longer length, but quantities are limited. First come first serve.

HEAVY DUTY CYLINDER HEAD NUTS

Super heat treated cylinder head nuts are a must for high output engines.
Help prevent blown and leaking head gaskets caused by the threads in the soft stock nuts stretching. APE nuts are machined from alloy steel and fully heat treated for maximum strength. Nuts are .150" taller than stock to prevent the nut from bottoming out on the stud when the head has been milled.

COUNTERSHAFT CASE STUD KIT

APE, in conjunction with DME's Skip Gladstone, has developed a stud kit that holds the cases together behind the countershaft. Skip contacted APE after breaking two sets of engine cases in this location. The advantage of the stud over the oem bolt is that a bolt can not use all of the thread in the case or it bottoms out. APE studs go in all the way to the bottom using all of the case thread. Also, studs are not removed evertime the cases come apart.

The stud is manufactured the same way we do our world famous cylinder studs. Same heat treat and threads rolled after heat treat. Comes with a special APE nut. The high tensile strength does not loosen and allow the case to flex.
Why take the chance. The cases can not be repaired when they break here.

Stud Washers

We offer two types of washers to be used with our Hayabusa cylinder studs.

On the gen 2 busa, 2008 and later, the head bolt washers do not come off the bolts.

When using our stud kits with a gen 2, it is necessary or order part# BHW1300. This is a set of 10. On gen 1 busas, use your stock head bolt washers.

BHW1300 Set of 10 $12.50

Part# BHW-SPT This special washer is for use on heads that have been machined for our 1/2" studs, but then the head goes back on a motor with 10mm studs. Stock washers do not work well on heads that have had this mod.

BHW-SPT Set of 10 $29.95

MAIN BEARING STUDS
main studs

For the Suzuki Hayabusa, heat treated chrome moly main bearing studs. These studs feature rolled threads, centerless ground surfaces, and come with competition style twelve point flange nuts.
As racing's leading supplier of heavy duty engine stud kits, APE already has their very popular top end cylinder studs for the big Suzuki, and now turned their attention to the bottom end. By replacing the bottom end bolts with heavy duty studs, it helps minimize the chances of high output engines trying to separate the engine cases at the crank center line resulting in oil pressure loss and possible engine bearing failure.

Hot rodders have already pushed the power of these engines to over twice what the factory intended. As with all engines with this power output, heavy duty fasteners are mandatory to hold them together.

The part number is MBS1300GSX racer price. $89.95 -

1/2" DIAMETER CYLINDER STUDS WITH NUTS AND WASHERS

APE has completed the first small production run of 1/2" diameter cylinder studs for the Hayabusa.  These studs are made from heat treated chrome moly steel, fully ground with rolled threads for maximum strength.
They come with special machined twelve point nuts and washers designed to fit in the busa head with no modifications.
Who would need these studs?  The guys that have had their cases redrilled and tapped 1/2-20 and find that they are stuck with having to use allen bolts.
Studs are the perfered fastener choice for high performance engines. Unlike a bolt, a stud uses all of the threads in the case, and it doesn't have to be removed during disassembly which adds wear on the case threads. Studs don't twist like bolts when being torqued down, so torque readings are more accurate.
If you have had your cases tapped out thinking those big bolts were necessary, at least now you can use studs.

COMES WITH NUTS AND WASHERS
